Therefore, brothers, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble. - 2 Peter 1:10

Cindy and I lived for many years with our children in and around Rome, New York where Roman Catholicism is the primary religion. Often, when listening to people tell their personal story, they would mention going through "confirmation." Usually, "confirmation" was a class on the teachings of the Catholic Church. It was and is also one of the required seven Catholic sacraments.
Peter speaks of confirmation as well, but his meaning is entirely different. As followers of Christ we are to "confirm" our calling and election by allowing the fruit of the Spirit to be increasingly evident in our lives.
This is the only confirmation our Father truly desires or needs. If you have engaged in the former, please be certain it reflects the latter.
