Jacob named the place where God had spoken with him Bethel. - Genesis 35:15

ree

The place where Jacob first heard the voice of God was obviously very important to him. It was so important in fact that he built an altar there and called it, "Bethel," which means "The House of God."

Has God ever spoken to you? Maybe His voice wasn't audible, yet through the Bible, prayer, or the words of another believer you heard His "voice." I hear from God all the time, but there have been particular times in my life when His "voice" has changed or challenged me to do something important or (what seemed to me at the time) extraordinary. These "moments" are "Bethel's" to me, places in time when I knew God's presence in a special way and it ended up being a pivotal moment in my ministry.

You can't hear God's voice if you don't know Him. Remain in Him and in His Word and you will hear from Him. He will also lead you where He wants you to be.

There has been a most Providential Guidance which the want of prudence, vigilance, or judgment has not impeded, and it is here that we can most clearly see the designs of God. - Catherine McAuley
