Lot departed from Zoar and lived in the mountains along with his two daughters, because he was afraid to live in Zoar. – Genesis 19:30

ree

When the two angels dragged Lot, his wife, and their two daughters out of Sodom they also told them to run to the mountains for safety. However, Lot debated with the angels, begging them to allow him to remain in the small, insignificant village of Zoar. He reasoned that he and his family would not be able to survive in the mountains.

Lot was a righteous man, but he lacked wisdom. God always knows what is best for us, but Lot struggled with trust. Wherever God leads us is best, no matter what our not-so-common sense may tell us.

We must trust Him always, and let Him lead.

There is no more terrible sight than ignorance in action. – Johann Wolfgang Goethe
