Offended?

As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart." - 1 Chronicles 15:29

Have you ever been offended by the worship others?
Before you answer, think. Have you ever been in a gathering with other Christ-followers and felt uncomfortable when someone near you sang louder, clapped harder, or (dare I say it) danced in a way than you felt was truly unnecessary? Face it. If you were, then you were probably "offended." Like Michal, who despised David in her heart, you "looked down" upon the celebration of another when (instead) you should have joined them in their ignorance of environment and self, and captured by the presence of God, thought only of Him.
More than we might like to admit, we at times find ourselves guilty of Michal's fault, but let us aim to change. How wonderful it would be to only think of the Almighty, to only think of our Savior when we worship!
We're here to be worshippers first and workers only second. We take a convert and immediately make a worker out of him. God never meant it to be so. God meant that a convert should learn to be a worshiper, and after that he can learn to be a worker...The work done by a worshiper will have eternity in it. - A. W. Tozer
