Deeply Rooted

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. - Colossians 2:6-7

My wife and I often consider our frequent moves. In our 46 years of marriage, we have lived in 29 "homes," 18 towns, eight US States, and three foreign countries. I guess no one will ever be able to accuse us of "putting down deep roots!" Except for the fact that wherever we have gone, we have always sought to be deeply rooted in Christ.

In all our moves, we have felt that God was leading us and have also known that if we remained grounded in Him, we would ultimately be "better" for the experience. Another thing we have learned is that you can never build higher than the depth of your foundation; or, to put it another way, "the deeper you go, the higher you can grow."

Plunge your roots into Christ and you will be able to grow tall and strong in your service and witness for Him.
