Follow the Son

And this house will become a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by will be astonished and hiss and say, "Why has YHWH done thus to this land and to this house?" - 1 Kings 9:8

As a warning to Solomon and the Israelites (should they disobey His laws), God gave a picture of the future destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. He wanted them to know that the building would not guarantee His presence or blessing. Only obedience could do that.

Every four years in our country, we elect a new leader. many look to this as the "answer" for all of our problems; however, no man and no party is the answer. Like a pile of stones, this country seems to crumble morally and socially a little more each day. Most people seem to be ignorant of the destruction (or simply deny the erosion), but for others the reasons are evident. Fact is, if it falls, and to me it seems inevitable barring a widespread spiritual awakening, no one should ever wonder, "Why has God done thus?"

Jesus is the answer and disobedience to God always brings destruction. Follow the Son.
