In Joy and In Tears

The people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shouting from that of the weeping, because the people were shouting so loudly. And the sound was heard far away. - Ezra 3:13

Did you wakeup this morning feeling happy or sad? My guess is that you were most likely either one or the other.
In the Christian life, there are many reasons to be happy. We're saved. We have an abundant life. We have a wonderful family in Christ Jesus.
But there are also some reasons to be sad. We sin. We disobey God. Sometimes we act like we don't believe the things we profess. Many people die each day without Christ Jesus. Yeah, I'll just stop there!
Whether "feeling" happy or sad, the reality is that God is immutable, unchanging and ready to hear your shouts of joy as well as your moans of agony. Cry out to God, in joy or in sadness. Cry out to Him. He absolutely hears, and in your humble transparent supplication others might observe your relationship with the Savior and also find the One who seeks.
If any of you should ask me for an epitome of the Christian religion, I should say that it is in one word - prayer. Live and die without prayer, and you will pray long enough when you get to hell. - Charles Spurgeon
