For the eyes of Yahweh range throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His. - 2 Chronicles 16:9

For most of his life, Asa (king of Judah) served God, but his last six years were a dismal failure. It seems that Asa forgot God and began to trust in himself. In fact, even when he became deathly ill, he refused to cry out to God and instead called for the pagan faith-healers.
A good beginning never guarantees a solid finish. Sanctification, being set apart by the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion, is our beginning in a life with Christ. Yet, from that miraculous moment to our ultimate glorification we are expected to join with Him in the process of our progression and transformation. Yes, we must be working out our salvation.
The Christian life is not a sprint. It is a marathon. A race that will not end until this earthly life is over. Someone once said, speaking of our testimony for Christ, that we are never too old to throw it all away. Will we be faithful unto the end? Be accountable. Be faithful until He comes or you go.
We are made for larger ends than Earth can encompass. Oh, let us be true to our exalted destiny. - Catherine Booth
