We Thank Not?

Then the man bowed down, worshiped the LORD, and said, "Praise YHWH, the God of my master Abraham, who has not withheld His kindness and faithfulness from my master. As for me, the LORD has led me on the journey to the house of my master's relatives." – Genesis 24:26-27

Have you asked God for anything lately? Did you get what you asked for? Did you thank God for what you got? In my experience, it seems that we spend a lot of time "asking" God for things, but not a whole lot of time giving thanks for the "things" we have already received.

Immediately after God responded to the request of Abraham's servant (to provide a possible candidate as bride of Isaac), the servant stopped and gave thanks. Are we guilty of having the time to put our needs before God, yet not having the time to thank Him when those same needs are satisfied?

Maybe "we have not" not just because "we ask not," but because "we thank not."
